Alex was one of our oldest friends. We loved him for his wicked sense of humour, his daft Christmas outfits (Alex as Santa's elf!) his whacky obsessions (hats, snuff, snuff delivery gadgets, beer, bonsai, that ruddy Ferrari kit in the hall....), his boundless inventiveness and ability to make us laugh..... You hear terms like 'one-off' used a lot these days. So much so that they've become almost meaningless. Alex put meaning back into the words. He was quite simply unique, irreplaceable, irresistible. We are lucky to have known him and privileged to have been his friends. We (Alex, Maggie, Mart and I) dreamed of circumnavigating the globe (the dry bits) in Land Rovers, playing canasta as we went. Who knows - maybe one day we'll do it wearing wings and halos! Hope you've already got yours Alex. Another outfit for the collection......X Jude and Mart
